A Crucial Number for Silver Owners

On January 21, 1980, silver’s London fix price was $49.45. It has never been higher. From there, it began a plunge that would take it to a low of $3.5475 at the end of February 1993. That was a plunge of 92.8% in just over 13 years. A 50% retracement of this loss would be around $26. So far, it has not done that. I’m still waiting.

Coming Soon- The Bill for Massive US Debt

The White House estimates that the government will have to borrow about $3.5 trillion more over the next three years. On top of that, the U.S. Treasury has to refinance, or roll over, a huge amount of short-term debt that was issued during the financial crisis. Treasury officials estimate that about 36% of the government’s marketable debt – about $1.6 trillion will mature in the next 12 months.
